A new family are set to make their way to Weatherfield in 2025
Coronation Street has announced that a new family are set to make their way to Weatherfield in 2025 – and they may already have links to other residents.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, DC Kit Green arrived on screens earlier this year after Bernie Winter went on a mission to find her long-lost son, Zodia. When she found Kit, as she posed as a cleaner before rifling through his drawers, he lied and said he wasn’t adopted but it was later confirmed that Bernie had found her long-lost son.
He soon made things difficult for Bernie, even attempting to turn children Paul Foreman and Gemma Winter against her, before Paul’s tragic death seemingly brought them together.
And while he may now not be causing problems for his own family, he’s not too worried about causing problems for others as not only has he got complications with Daisy Midgeley after covering the fact she hit Shona Platt with Debbie Webster’s stolen car, while also sleeping with Shona behind her husband David’s back.
But it seems we may soon unpack more of Kit’s past with two new arrivals who are first seemingly linked to his brother-in-law Chesney.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Corrie producer Kate Brooks revealed: “We’ve got some great characters coming in. They are Mick and Lou. They’re coming to live at the back of Chesney, on Maudsley Street, across the ginnell. They are livewires, they are ruffians, they are going to cause a lot of damage and a lot of chaos.”

She went on to tease: “There is a link to Chesney initially, but they are coming to stir up a lot of trouble, and open up the floodgates and unpack the past of one of our big characters, which is Kit. So, really interesting, wonderful and dynamic stuff that’s going to be fantastic. We’re really excited, they come in with oodles of drama.
“They are shaking things up. They’re neighbours from hell. They’re overfamiliar, likeable and they’ve got kids. Initially they develop a friendship with Chesney and Gemma, but there are other things to unpack. I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of them – especially Mick! They are brilliant actors.
“They are coming to cause some chaos on the street, and they will leave a trail of devastation… They’re coming on the street all guns blazing and will land on screen around February time. Really chaotic but really enjoyable. They have a charm to them, but they do and say things that you shouldn’t!”
