Joel’s next victim confirmed as he targets Coronation Street legend

Carla Connor (Alison King) puts herself in the firing line of evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill) in Coronation Street next week, as he continues to evade justice.

On Friday, fans of the ITV soap saw Joel released from police custody after they failed to gather enough evidence to charge him – much to the anguish of DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), his ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and victim Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

As the trio remain resolute in their mission to try and bring Joel down next week, he is walking free and Carla is angered when she clocks him at the Chariot Square Hotel.

Carla is meeting with a potential supplier at the hotel when she spots Joel, and she wastes no time in approaching his table to give him an earful.

Seeing red, she announces to the room that he’s the person who tried to murder Lauren.

How will Joel react?

As our spoiler video (above) reveals, Carla’s encounter with Joel follows his latest threat to Lauren, after he visits their son Frankie in hospital.

Joel is furious to find Dee-Dee there too and says makes yet another chilling comment that Dee-Dee quickly reports to Swain.

She then continues to do some digging of her own after learning that Joel used to work for a firm, Walcotts, who specialise in helping vulnerable young people.

What dirt will she find, and will it be enough to get the charges against him to stick this time?

Coronation Street airs these scenes from Monday 2 September at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
