Harvey Monroe has been overworking himself to support his family and Maya, but on Tuesday evening he makes a catastrophic mistake that could have had devastating consequences
EastEnders has aired terrifying scenes as baby Charli is left only ‘minutes from death’ as Harvey Monroe (played by Ross Boatman) makes a huge mistake.
Harvey recently learned that Maya Hossain’s (Bharti Patel) husband is the man that his son Aaron (Charlie Wernham) and his far-right group attacked in a racist hate crime, which left him seriously injured.
In a bid to help Maya, cab driver Harvey has been helping Maya with her financial worries, notably as her house was under threat of repossession.
During Tuesday’s trip to Walford (August 20), which is available to watch on iPlayer, Harvey continues to overwork himself in order to make money for his family home with partner Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and to also support Maya.
Jean’s frustration with Harvey’s work pattern starts to surface as problems in their relationship are teased.
She asks why he didn’t make it home last night, with Harvey saying he was getting lots of fares and so took them to earn more cash.
Nevertheless, he wants to get back in Jean’s good books and offers to help out Stacey (Lacey Turner) by collecting baby Charli from the nursery. However, he puts the baby in danger after falling asleep in the hot car with Charli in the back.
Luckily, Jack spots them just in time and they are rushed to hospital, Harvey despairing that he allowed this to happen.
While at the hospital, Lily (Lillia Turner) confirms Charli will be fine although she was only “10 minutes from death.”
Harvey offers to take everyone home but Jack refuses the offer and explains he is never allowed to drive around his granddaughter again.
As Harvey and Jean appear to become distant, some EastEnders fans think the much-loved couple will split.
Taking to X, one viewer said: “Now Harvey is continuing to lie to Jean. Everybody just living and lying all around the square. #EastEnders.”
A second exclaimed: “Harvey is still giving money to Maya. Wait until Jean finds out. #EastEnders.”
A third chimed in: “Jean will [hit] the roof, Harvey is going to make himself ill or get into dent himself. #EastEnders @bbceastenders.”
“Also, let’s wrap this Harvey storyline up asap #EastEnders”, urged another.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
