Coronation Street fans will ‘never watch again’ as they all make the same plea to TV bosses

Coronation Street fans have made the same demand to ITV bosses following a dramatic showdown on the soap

Angry Coronation Street fans have issued the same plea to TV bosses.

This week, Joel Deering (played by Calum Lill) was finally exposed for his horrific crimes. Fans will recall, he rocked up to the cobbles as a nice guy last year. But the sicko solicitor has shown his true colours in recent months, as it was revealed he was behind the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

Joel wormed his way into Lauren’s life after helping her out with bills, eventually coercing her into a sexual relationship. He then left her for dead after bashing her head in, following a heated argument where Lauren mentioned fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) name.

As well as all that, he fathered her newborn baby and recently tried to kill her, drugging her in a desperate attempt to kill the baby. His sickening plan didn’t work though, as she went into labour early and the baby survived.

And despite thinking he had gotten away with his crimes, this week – the truth came out. Fiancee Dee-Dee ended up discovering that Joel attacked Lauren – realising he is really an abuser and groomer.

However, as Lauren told Dee-Dee the truth, Joel overheard their conversation. In a bid to beat them to it, he went to the Police first, spinning a web of lies about Lauren.

Joel ended up admitting he had a sexual relationship with the teen – but then lied and said that Lauren had got illegal abortion pills to try and get rid of the baby.

During a tense showdown in the station, Joel was arrested whilst Lauren was taken by DS Swain (Vicky Myers) for further questioning. However, fans of the soap have made a big demand to bosses, insisting that Joel must get caught and sent to prison for his crimes. Rushing over to X, one person said: “If Joel talks his way out of this, I’ll never watch #Corrie again.”

Someone else added: “I can’t deal with any injustice before justice prevails. It’s taking me back to Kirsty with Tyrone and that was too stressful. Take Joel down now!”

A third penned: “Can we fast forward to the episode where Joel goes to prison.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
