Cindy’s torrid affair ‘exposed’ in EastEnders – by the person she least expects

George Knight (Micah Balfour) and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) have been sneaking around for weeks now as their torrid affair has got steamier and steamier in EastEnders.

But their illicit secret risks being exposed in the BBC soap next week when Junior’s half-sister and Cindy’s daughter Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) is charged with digging into his suspicious behaviour.

Junior’s dad and Cindy’s ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) suspects his son has got a mystery new woman, and puts pressure on his daughter to find out who she is.

Cindy spots her trying to break into Junior’s phone at Beales Eels, and Gina admits what she’s doing, which a panicked Cindy quickly relays to Junior.

However, Cindy soon comes to regret sharing that information when Junior takes shock action by going on a date with another woman.

Cindy is angry when Junior fails to show up for a secret meet-up, and is further seething upon arriving at The Vic to see Junior introducing Maxine to his family.

Junior insists his date with Maxine is just to distract his family, but Cindy sees red later in the week when she learns from Gina that Junior and Maxine have slept together.

Despite her own relationship with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), a jealous Cindy then gives Junior an ultimatum – if he’s with her, he can’t be with anybody else.

Will he agree to her terms?

Actor Micah Balfour, who plays Junior, recently hinted Junior will continue to play games with Cindy as their affair continued, revealing: ‘Junior rather likes winding Cindy up and keeping her on her toes.

‘Their back and forth is fiery and passionate, and Junior enjoys that heightened emotion.’

However, Micah predicted Junior has developed some ‘genuine’ feelings for his dad’s ex, adding: ‘I’m not sure how serious those feelings are, but he does have a genuine affection for her. But he’s one of those men who feels that what people don’t know can’t hurt them.’

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 19 August at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
