“Realistic isn’t it?!?”
Home and Away star Lynne McGranger has explained the real reason behind her forehead injury.
The Irene Roberts star took to Instagram to share a picture from set in which she sports a freshly stitched scar on her forehead. The veteran soap star clarified that the wound has been created for a scene in which her character falls down the stairs.
“Thank you all for your concern but this is brilliant makeup by my friend and @homeandaway makeup artist @hil_brooks_mua for a scene where my character Irene had a tumble down the stairs!” McGranger wrote, adding: “Realistic isn’t it?!?”

On her own Instagram page, Hilary Middlebrook posted more snaps of McGranger in the makeup chair as well as images of Irene at the bottom of the stairs with blood coming out of her wound.
“This was such a fun storyline to do with @lynnemcgranger! A true Aussie legend! More BTS to come!” Middlebrook wrote on her Instagram.
The fall is part of Irene’s relapse storyline and aired in Australia last week, with fans in the UK catching up next month.
Following her injury, Irene is now in rehab whilst McGranger takes a little break from Summer Bay to star in a play. The actor is part of the cast of original stage comedy show The Grandparents Club, as she announced in January this year.
“[I’ll be going for] just a little while,” she said at the time on Australia’s The Morning Show (via 7 News), clarifying that she is “not leaving anything permanently”.
