Poor Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) was left with an injury in recent EastEnders scenes when Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) got distracted by a text from Anna Knight (Molly Rainford).
Jean was keen to clear out the Slater garage this week and had been promised some help by grandson Freddie. Unfortunately, Freddie had other plans, and soon headed off birdwatching with Anna.
However, he was later caught off guard when he overheard an argument between Anna and sister Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) about Anna’s feelings for him.
Gina insisted that it was clear Anna was in love with Freddie, so she should dump boyfriend Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) and go after what she really wanted.
Anna retorted that she didn’t want to end things with Bobby, and that her feelings for Freddie were totally under control.
As Anna stormed off, Freddie appeared torn about what he’d heard.
In tonight’s episode, the Vic was struck with a tragedy when Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was rushed to hospital, so Anna asked Freddie if he wanted to help her behind the bar.
Freddie declined the offer, insisting that he needed to help Jean with the garage.
It was clear there was something off and, unaware that Freddie knew about her feelings for him, Anna texted to ask if he was upset with her for some reason.
Though Freddie tried to ignore the text and focus on helping Jean, he received another one just as he and Jean were about to pick up a couch, which ended in disaster.
As Jean lifted, Freddie reached for his phone, resulting in Jean dropping the couch and collapsing on top of it, clutching her back in pain.
Will she be okay?
