ITV Corrie fans fear for Bernie as Kit makes chilling remark about his true colours

Coronation Street fans are convinced that Bernie Winter is in danger after her son Kit Green made a chilling remark about his true colours during Wednesday’s first visit to Weatherfield.

Coronation Street fans are on edge for Bernie Winter’s fate after Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, made a chilling confession in the latest Weatherfield drama. The dodgy detective recently arrived on the scene as Bernie Winter’s (portrayed by Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son whom she had given up for adoption.

Despite his early life away from his family, Kit has shown scant interest in bonding with his siblings Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash). But on Wednesday (August 14), an emotional encounter unfolded when Kit paid a visit to Paul, leading to a poignant brotherly exchange.

Paul, grappling with motor neurone disease (MND), communicated through his Eyegaze machine, imploring Kit to forgive their mother.

“I need you to forgive Mum, properly,” he implored in a moment that tugged at the heartstrings. Paul continued: “I know she hurt you, she was a mess back then more than she is now. She loves you, she wants your forgiveness. We all want that.”

Kit struggled to articulate his feelings in response, admitting: “I’m not going to sugarcoat this because of this situation. Ever since she didn’t turn up that day I have been angry.

“Like really angry but then I met you guys and I wanted you to hate her for what she did, so I focused on the worst things. I tried to make it as hard as possible for her.”

In a stark revelation, Kit confirmed his unwillingness to reconcile with Bernie: “The truth is Paul I’m not always a nice person.”

Despite Paul’s plea for Kit to reconsider his stance towards Bernie, the tension escalated when Paul suddenly began to struggle with his breathing, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Fear flashed across Kit’s face as he frantically dialled for emergency assistance while Paul gasped for air. In the nick of time, Bernie arrived, managing to stabilise Paul’s breathing with a machine as Kit looked on, visibly shaken.

Subsequently, Kit paid Bernie a visit, witnessing her emotional breakdown over Paul’s condition. The pair later headed to The Rovers for a comforting drink, much to Paul’s delight.

However, after Kit ominously admitted that he’s “not a nice person” and harboured no forgiveness for Bernie, fans have been left deeply concerned that he might turn against his own mother.

On social media platform X, one viewer expressed their unease, writing: “Kit’s not always a nice person that’s an understatement. #Corrie.” (sic)

Another fan cautioned: “Don’t leave Kit alone with Paul! #Corrie #CoronationStreet.” (sic)

A third pleaded: “Can Kit not just be nice? #CoronationStreet.” (sic)

One hopeful viewer speculated: “Kit seems to care about Paul and maybe seeing Bernie help Paul will soften him towards her and stop him from causing anymore trouble for them. #Corrie.” (sic)

Another suggested a potential plot twist, writing: “Kit is exactly like his siblings and his mother, if/when he forgives Bernie, him and Bernie will be dodgy and conning together.” (sic)

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
