EastEnders has recently announced the return of some characters as the soap edges closer to its 40th anniversary, but fans are convinced there’s about to be a family reunion.

EastEnders fans are convinced another Walford legend is returning for the soap’s 40th birthday celebrations.

Last month, show bosses announced that Michael French will be reprising his role as David Wicks later this year. The roguish David will be back in Walford over a decade after his last appearance.

The character originally appeared from 1993 to 1996 before subsequent appearances in 2012 and then from 2013 to 2014 But David will not be alone as his daughter Bianca Jackson, played by Patsy Palmer, will also be in tow.

On Thursday (August 8), EastEnders teased the long-awaited family reunion confirming Bianca and David will both be back in town.

Bianca, who debuted in Walford in 1993, never knew David was her father as a child, leading to some uncomfortable EastEnders scenes in the 1990s as they flirted with each other before the truth was revealed.

Bianca was last seen in the Square earlier this year and was the first to suspect something dodgy about her Reiss Colwell (Johnny Freeman), the killer boyfriend of her sister Sonia (Natalie Cassidy).

Following David and Bianca’s comeback to Walford, some EastEnders fans are now convinced Carol Jackson, played by Lindsey Coulson, is also going to return.

Carol is David’s ex-wife and the mum of Bianca and Sonia, she is also the sister of Max and Jack Branning. She was introduced in 1993 before leaving in 1997.

She reappeared briefly two years later before making a comeback in 2010. She was last seen in 2015 when she drove out of the Square on a motorbike. But fans think she is coming back.

Taking to X, one person wrote: “Time for Carol to come back also. Bring the Jackson’s front and centre. #EastEnders.” (sic)

A second stated: “David Wicks & Bianca Jackson returning, I’m just hoping that Carol Jackson’s return is yet to be announced #EastEnders”, while a third exclaimed: “WOO! Carol is so coming back #EastEnders.” (sic)

“I think Sonia’s mom is returning, Carol Jackson. #EastEnders,” added another. (sic)

One more fan shared: “It makes sense her to return with David returning soon but I also wish that Carol could return.” (sic)
