Coronation Street star Alex Bain sports new look as he joins footballers and celebrities at Hot Wheels launch

Corrie’s Simon Barlow star Alex, who has just left the soap, showcased a new look as he took his daughter to the big new Hot Wheels event

He has played Coronation Street’s Simon Barlow on screen for the past 16 years – and soap fans have watched actor Alex Bain grow from child to man before our eyes.

But now that he’s finished filming on the soap as fresh-faced Simon, actor Alex has been sporting a rockier new look in real life.

For the Blackburn-born star was showing off his new moustache and beard as he headed with his family to the launch night of the epic new Hot Wheels City Experience.

Alex, 22, beamed for photos at the event alongisde his mum Debra and his adorable five-year-old daughter Lydia Rose. Lydia, wearing a pretty striped top and red bow handbag, flashed the peace sign as she posed up with her famous dad on the way into the event.

Alex joined a host of footballers and famous faces from TV at the VIP launch on Monday night.

It’s the first time the Hot Wheels City Experience has ventured into Europe after a recent tour of South America.

And to celebrate, the blue carpet was rolled out to welcome famous faces for the opening night.

That included Lioness Ella Toone with her footballer partner Joe Bunney, Manchester City star Phil Foden with his son Ronnie and Hollyoaks star Jen Metcalfe.

Sports broadcaser Sam Matterface was pictured enjoying the new exhibition, as was Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby.

Meanwhile Emmerdale star Jay Kontzle headed along with his three children and wife Mimi to explore the new attraction.

The new attraction features 10 immersive stations, including a design centre, immersive museum, gamer zone, and Hot Wheels Lab. Visitors are invited to embark on a nostalgic and educational journey through the vibrant and thrilling world of Hot Wheels.

The event is now open for the rest of the school summer holidays, and is booking until September 12 at the BEC Arena, next to the Trafford Centre.
