Does Linda Carter die in EastEnders and is Kellie Bright leaving the BBC soap?

Linda Carter faces a life-threatening situation on EastEnders tonight – with many worried it could be the end of the road for Kellie Bright’s time on the BBC soap

Linda Carter’s fate has been ‘revealed’ after she is found in a life-threatening situation on EastEnders tonight.

Fans have been worried about what might happen to Linda after spoilers revealed she finds herself in a life threatening situation. In tonight’s episode – which is already available on BBC iPlayer – Johnny returns home and finds Linda very ill in her room after having a drink as the pressure mounts over Dean’s trial. Will she be ok?

Nothing has been confirmed about Linda’s fate on EastEnders but this is clearly the most seriously ill she has been in a while. Some fans will no doubt be fearful that this could be the end of Kellie Bright’s time on the BBC soap.

Whilst nothing has been confirmed, it is unlikely this will see Kellie’s exit from Walford. Speaking about Linda’s struggle with the truth – as Dean faces prison for Keanu’s death – she said: “She has to [keep the secret]. If Linda falls, all of the other women fall with her. I honestly don’t think that Linda will ever truly find peace for killing Keanu whilst it remains a secret, but I think the guilt of taking the other women down with her would be too much for Linda to bear.

“She’s also very aware that her children have already lost one parent, and she doesn’t want them to lose another. Linda has to try and remain strong but as you’ll see this week, her drinking threatens to jeopardise it all.”

Last month, Kellie revealed she thinks Linda would be “relieved” to be caught out for what she did to Keanu.

“I think in some ways, Linda would be relieved if she got found out. As much as she is covering this up because she doesn’t want to leave her children, on some level she believes she deserves to be punished, which is why she’s drinking again. I think she thinks there is something inherently dark and wrong with her,” she said, “The only thing I can get my head into… is thinking of an ink blot in her soul that is gradually seeping and getting bigger and bigger; that blackness where you can’t wash it out. It’s a bit Lady Macbeth.”
