Hollyoaks confirms ‘uncle’ Jeremy’s true identity in major twist – and Sienna is left reeling

Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is left reeling in Hollyoaks next week when Martha (Sherrie Hewson) drops the biggest of all bombshells on her, confirming a major secret about Jeremy (Jeremy Sheffield).

Jeremy, as viewers know, rocked up in the eponymous village earlier this year, bearing a remarkable resemblance to dead Patrick Blake, the demon headmaster who terrorised numerous favourites.

Sienna, who still holds a special place in her heart for her dad, has got to a place now where she acknowledges that Patrick wasn’t a good person and therefore she was reluctant to let Jeremy into her life.

Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith), however, was keen to get to know her uncle. The character, as fans know, was revealed earlier this year to be Sienna’s secret sister, with the two characters sharing a dad in Patrick.

After some persuasion from Dilly, Sienna ultimately agreed to give Jeremy – also known as Jez – a chance, especially after she discovered that Martha had taken him prisoner and attempted to drug him.

But despite her unhinged methods, it turns out that Martha was actually trying to protect Sienna, Dilly and Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart), with Jeremy proving to be the evil one as he revealed his sinister plan to murder Sienna and Dilly as some sort of twisted revenge for what Patrick put him through.

Martha attempted to warn the girls but Jeremy intervened, having her admitted to a nursing home, telling Sienna that her grandmother is suffering from dementia.

Jeremy pays his mum a visit next week, with Martha urging him to reconsider his twisted plan. Jeremy, however, shows his true nature once again, leaving her incapacitated.

Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter), meanwhile, is left unnerved when Jeremy overreacts after Daniel damages his plants. Jeremy covers, claiming that his plants hold meaning as he reveals that he lost his children 40 years ago – and the day of their anniversary approaches.

Those of you who have been following the story might recall that Jeremy has a secret tattoo on his shoulder, which features the very same date.

The date in question holds a very special meaning to Jeremy and thus he decides that it’s the perfect day to enact his twisted revenge on Patrick’s children.

As part of his plan, he invites Sienna, Dilly and Liberty to the allotment for a so-called ‘surprise’. Martha, meanwhile, fears that she’s running out of time to warn the girls of their impending danger and therefore she takes action, overpowering the nurse and staging her escape.

Jeremy, however, struggles to follow through on his plot after Liberty gifts him something special, just as Martha shows up at Sienna’s, telling her granddaughter that she must keep her safe as she drops a mammoth bombshell, claiming that Jeremy is her father.

Sienna reels but ultimately she struggles to believe what Martha has said as she thinks that her grandmother is suffering from dementia. Over at the allotment, Jeremy fills Liberty in on his past.

The immediate aftermath of the scenes in question are shrouded in mystery but following scenes will Martha staying with Sienna at her Oakdale Drive flat.

When the bathroom is flooded, Jez points the finger at his mum, claiming that this is why she must return to the care home. Sienna, however, is sceptical and argues that Martha is staying put.

Is Sienna starting to realise that Jeremy cannot be trusted?

The much-loved character has already been through so much in the past year, from losing Rafe Harcourt (Chris Gordon) and splitting from soulmate Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) to being held at gunpoint and finding out about Dilly being her sister.

Just how much more trauma can she take? And is there any truth to Martha’s claims? This would be a huge retcon that would change everything we know about the Blake dynasty.

One to watch: Tuesday August 20 from 7:30pm on Channel 4 streaming or Wednesday August 21 at 7pm on E4.
