EastEnders legend Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is feared dead in upcoming scenes as paramedics race to Albert Square.
Linda has been really struggling in recent months following her murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day.
The stabbing, paired with the return of rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) drove Linda back into the clutches of alcoholism.
In upcoming scenes, Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) is at a loss of how to help his mum when he finds that she has been drinking all night.
Still reeling from the blackmail letters she has been receiving, Linda struggles with her sobriety ahead of her pre-trial meeting.
Viewers will remember that Linda and The Six framed Dean for Keanu’s murder, and Linda is the set to be the star witness in his case.
‘I think the woman that walked into that police station and gave that false witness statement a few months ago has receded into the background, and Linda today is now very unsure of herself,’ actress Kellie Bright explained.
‘She’s scared that she’s going to forget what to say and forget what she said because obviously it was all lies. The reality of standing in a court in front of a judge, a jury, and give evidence, is really starting to kick in. It’s unsettling her.’
When she receives a text, she is horrified to discover that the blackmailer has her phone number, and soon tells Johnny that she doesn’t want to go to the meeting.
In a bid to keep her calm enough to get her there, Johnny takes desperate measures, and soon a prosecutor begins to question tipsy Linda.
Having left Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) to look after Linda after the meeting, Johnny later returns home only to have a massive row with her.
Later, after he’s calmed down, he returns home and is horrified to find Linda in a life-threatening situation.
It doesn’t take long for paramedics to arrive, and soon they have rushed her to hospital, where Johnny wastes no time in admonishing Gina for not sticking to her word, before demanding that she move out.
Will Linda be okay, or are we set to lose an East End legend?
