EastEnders promotes favourite as another resident is kicked out in new spoilers

Things turn tense between Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in EastEnders next week as Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) life is on the line.

An explosive row between Johnny (Charlie Suff) and Gina (Francesca Henry) leads to her seeking refuge with brother Junior (Micah Balfour) – but will she expose his affair with former step-mum Cindy (Michelle Collins)?

Elsewhere, dastardly Nish (Navin Chowdhry) continues to plague ex-wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and her girlfriend Eve (Heather Peace), whilst Anna (Molly Rainford) is torn between boyfriend Bobby (Clay Milner-Russell) and Freddie (Bobby Brazier).

There’s also a mix-up when one local gets the wrong impression and kisses another, and further woes for Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) as she continues to keep her engagement a secret.

It’s drama-central in Albert Square, and luckily for you, Metro.co.uk has all the goss!

Here’s next week’s EastEnders guide…

When Peter wrongly assumes she’s trying to make amends for their family dramas, Junior overhears and quickly offers him a job on his new project to keep his mind occupied.

Elsehwhere, Nish makes an offer to Ayesha in a bid to upset Suki and Eve, and with feelings brewing between Anna and Freddie, Gina warns her sister not to string him along.

However, Anna is insistent that they’re still on the right track and there’s nothing to worry about…

Tuesday August 13

Cindy is furious to learn about Peter’s job offer and instead offers him the managerial role at Beale’s Eels, preparing to demote Bobby. She orders Junior not to hire her son, but he refuses to take back his offer.

Later, Lauren quizzes Cindy on why she’s so determined to shut down their plans, and she’s forced to tell a lie to discredit Junior.

After yet another night of hitting the bottle, Johnny thinks his mum is a lost cause. Gina promises to look after her, and when he returns he and Linda have a huge row. After he’s calmed down, he finds her in a life-threatening situation…

Elsewhere, Sonia is saddened that she can’t show Amy her engagement ring, whilst Bobby apologises for his treatment of Anna in recent weeks. The Knight sisters argue, unaware that Freddie has overheard Gina saying that Anna is in love with him.

Wednesday August 14

He thinks fast to cover his tracks, and declines her request.
