Emmerdale legend delighted as she wins her job back

The stabbing of Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) by Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) on Emmerdale caused fallout all over the place as the majority of Dingles sided with Samson over his apparent ordeal, while Matty’s close family members knew that he couldn’t possibly have attacked someone with a knife.

Matty’s mum Moira (Natalie J. Robb), his wife Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and mother-in-law Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) knew that Matty was telling the truth when he said that he’d simply been holding a knife when Samson’s friend Josh (Osian Morgan) pushed him towards him, as the two boys caused trouble in the Hide.

As an innocent Matty was arrested and put in prison on remand, Matty’s supporters tried everything to get Samson and Josh to tell the truth.

Kerry Wyatt, who was working at the Woolpack at the time, came up with a very Kerry plan to honey-trap Josh into a confession. She poured a pint for Josh and started flirting with him, setting her phone to record the ensuing conversation.

The plan was working, with Josh about to reveal what had really happened at the Hide when Samson got stabbed, but at that moment Charity (Emma Atkins) and Samson walked in. Samson warned Josh that he was talking to Matty’s mother-in-law and Kerry’s plan failed.

Even worse for her, Charity was angry that she’d stoop to such tactics. At that point Charity, along with the rest of the Dingles, believed that Matty had been the innocent victim.

So Kerry said she couldn’t work alongside Samson and told Charity to choose between her and Samson. To nobody’s surprise, Charity chose Samson and Kerry was out on her ear.

Since then things have been very quiet on the Kerry front, but in upcoming episodes she wants her job back. Now that the truth is out about Samson lying about the stabbing incident – and with him facing prison for what happened – she hopes that Charity will realise that she did nothing wrong.

Sensibly she decides that it’s better to take the indirect approach with Charity and she talks to Chas (Lucy Pargeter) first, hoping that Chas will get Charity to agree to give her another chance behind the bar at the Wooly.

Will Charity agree?
