Coronation Street viewers are convinced they’ve figured out who will save Amy Barlow from evil Rowan Cunliffe after a dangerous update on Friday
Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve figured out who will save Amy Barlow from evil Rowan Cunliffe.
Soap watchers will recall that mysterious newcomer Rowan has targeted Leanne Battersby with his “self-improvement group” The Institute. Rowan has also been pulling Leanne away from partner Nick Tilsley and even her sister Toyah Battersby during her time of need. With Nick and Toyah left betrayed by Leanne, the duo have embarked in a secret affair with Rowan since blackmailing the duo to invest into The Institute.
Rowan has also been putting pressure on Leanne to invest into The Institute and on Friday he told her that she had been selected by Willow to run the new resource centre, revealing he had fixed a meeting with a potential investor. Later, Rowan introduced Leanne to Grant and left the two alone for the sales pitch.
However, it was soon clear that Grant was nothing but a creep as he told Leanne that if she wanted him to invest then he expected favours in return. Later, a horrified Leanne told Rowan, who feigned surprise, telling him she told him to keep his money as the duo decided to speak to Amy instead.
Soap fans will recall that the duo have targeted Amy recently with The Institute after a stressful time for the youngster. So far, Amy seems to be captivated by the cult and on Friday night Leanne persuaded her that in order to take the next step on her journey with The Institute, she should invest in the new resources centre using her inheritance money.
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers think Amy’s mum Tracy Barlow, who recently left the cobbles but is due to return next week, will save her daughter from the cult or investing money. One person said: “Need to see Tracey back quick, to see her lay into Rowan, when she finds out Amy is about to hand over that inheritance money #corrie”, a different account put: “#Corrie Please Please Please let Tracey come back and find out Leanne & Rowan are trying to fleece Amy out of her inheritance from Deirdre, I’d buy tickets for that” while another wrote: “Really not happy Amy’s being dragged into this mad cult but on plus side maybe Tracy will return #Corrie.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
