Coronation Street legend Alan Halsall has teased a Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape twist that will divide fans amid Tyrone’s ex Alina Pop returning to the cobbles after three years
Coronation Street legend Alan Halsall has teased a Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape twist that will divide fans.
On Wednesday night, Fiz was left stunned when she bumped into husband Tyrone’s ex Alina in Fresco’s car park. Soap fans will recall that Alina, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu, was last seen on the cobbles back in 2021, where she fled the cobbles to Romania and hinted at a secret pregnancy with Tyrone’s baby.
Upon Fiz seeing her husband’s ex, Alina explained that she had been called as a witness in a trial but Fiz clocked Alina’s screensaver was her holding a little boy, leaving Fiz seriously unsettled as Alina claimed it was her nephew. Later, Fiz gently broke the news to Tyrone that he could potentially have a son. However, when Tyrone raced to Alina’s hotel to confront her, he found that she had already checked out…
Now, with the potential arrival of his love child Dorin on the cobbles and ex Alina, Tyrone will find his wedded bliss to Fiz under threat just 18 months after tying the knot. Teasing the upcoming scenes, Tyrone actor Alan, 41, who has played the cobbles mechanic for almost 26 years, says the plot will divide fans as they put the much-loved couple’s marriage to the test.

The actor said: “With Jennie [McAlpine, who plays Fiz] being off on maternity leave, we haven’t really seen the domestic bliss of Ty and Fiz’s marriage, two kids and a nana. For it to be turned upside down so quickly and Alina to come back with a child on board – it’s going to divide a lot of people and that’s just within the house. Pardon the pun, but it’s a spanner in the works for Tyrone.”
He added: “He’s living this domestic bliss so the last thing he really wants is anything interrupting that. At first I think he just wants to dismiss it, it’s nothing to do with me and let’s just continue with our lives. One thing I know about him is that over the years he’s definitely a family man and he wants to do right by his family and by his children.
“Once he knows there’s a child involved and that child maybe has something to do with him, he wants to try to do right and the right things. But Fiz has nothing to worry about. Tyrone did learn his lessons and we saw that clearly when they got back together and finally got married after so many times of breaking up. There have been plenty of occasions where Ty and Fiz have not been together but that’s bubbled on for 20 years.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
