Lisa Riley has revealed she is staying put in Emmerdale after signing a new contract.
The Mandy Dingle actress returned to the ITV soap in 2019, some 18 years after viewers saw her character exit the village.
Speaking to The Mirror, Lisa said she has ‘absolutely loved’ her time back on the show, and is pleased bosses have offered her the chance to stay on.
‘I’ve just signed a new long contract and I’m very happy,’ she said.
Commenting on her on-screen partnership with Dominic Brunt, who plays her ex-husband and current fiancé Paddy Kirk, Lisa continued: ‘Paddy and Mandy bring such joy to the show – you can rely on the fact that they’re going to bring you that sprinkle of fun and I love that.
‘It’s 25 years since they married the first time and I’d like to think that I’ll still be in the show in another 25 years – I absolutely love it.’
The couple are set to walk down the aisle again next week. However, she has been hiding the fact she is a Financial Dominatrix – where she receives large sums of money from submissive men online – from Paddy, who is set to discover her secret ahead of the big day.
Will their wedding go ahead as planned?
Earlier this week, Lisa told OK! Magazine how she believed the couple were destined to reunite.
She said: ‘When I came back to the show six years ago, it was inevitable that Mandy and Paddy would get back together. They are best friends and soulmates, he loves her mayhem. She can be whacky, but he just smiles at Mandy and goes “well, that’s my girl”.’
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
