Tragedy is set to rock Emmerdale this Christmas and Will Taylor is hellbent on taking down his ex-wife Kim Tate.
Emmerdale fans seem to think they have worked out who is working with Peter (played by David Michaels) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) to bring down Kim Tate (Claire King).
In a surprising turn of events, Will reignited his relationship with Kim, leaving fans stunned. Audiences will remember that earlier this year, Will was unfaithful to Kim, leading to a blackmail situation.
The blackmailer tormented Will, even staging a scene to make it appear as though Kim had been killed. However, the plot thickened when it was revealed that Kim was the mastermind behind the ordeal after discovering Will’s betrayal.
This sparked a bitter feud between Kim and Will, with Kim determined to protect her wealth from him. In an attempt to safeguard her assets, she enlisted the help of financial advisor Peter, with whom she also had a fling.
However, recently, Kim decided to bury the hatchet with Will and halt their divorce proceedings, realising she still harboured feelings for him. The feeling seemed mutual, and the pair swiftly rekindled their romance, even planning to renew their vows on Christmas Day.
But the plot took a shocking twist when it was revealed that Peter and Will had been secretly conspiring for months to bring Kim down. Adding to the intrigue, Peter isn’t acting alone—he’s in league with an unknown individual intent on sabotaging Kim’s life.
Details about this mysterious character are scarce, except that they’re male and currently overseas. Even Will is in the dark about their identity, left taken aback upon discovering another party involved in his and Peter’s scheme.
The enigmatic figure at the centre of the drama is set to descend upon the village on Christmas Eve, threatening to shatter Will and Kim’s vow renewal ceremony. In the episode aired on Wednesday (December 18), the tension escalated dramatically.
Will, convinced that their scheme must be aborted, was met with a chilling caution from Peter. Hinting at a potentially fatal outcome for Will, Peter angrily warned: “This isn’t someone you would want to get on the wrong side of. If you want to see in the New Year, you better stick to the plan.”
Now, as whispers circulate that Kim might be the shadowy ally working with Peter, fans are bracing themselves for the possibility of Will meeting a grim fate during the holiday season.
Fans have also been busy devising their own theories about who Peter is working with and sharing their thoughts on social media.
In a thread on a Facebook fan page dedicated to the soap, one fan suggested it is Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) father Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), who is working with Peter.
Another agreed: “That’s who I thought as well.”
Someone else suggested: “I’m thinking Joe.”
“Imagine if Frank or Chris Tate come back from the dead…now that would be a Christmas storyline to remember,” a fourth theorised.
“That looks like Caleb, but I still think it is Kim double bluffing,” another shared while one added: “Jamie, Kim’s son maybe?”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
