BBC EastEnders death ‘sealed’ for Linda Carter as she’s rushed to hospital in harrowing scenes

Linda Carter finds herself in a life-threatening situation on EastEnders next week as she’s rushed to hospital – but after a harrowing 12 months, will she be ok?

EastEnders have teased some shock scenes for Linda Carter next week when she finds herself rushed to hospital.

Linda – played by Kellie Bright – has been front and centre of the BBC soap for the last few months after she was revealed as the Christmas killer. She killed Keanu Taylor after he attacked Sharon Watts on their wedding day, and has since been living with the guilt of what happened. Dean Wicks was framed for Keanu’s murder – but Linda will have to go on the stand to confirm she ‘saw’ Dean after giving a false statement to police to cement him being guilty of the crime.

Next week on the BBC soap, Linda continues drinking all night – with Johnny at a loss of how he can help her through. Johnny heads out, assured that Gina will look after Linda – but when he returns, he is left fuming and he has a massive row with Linda.

He heads back out but when he comes back home, he finds Linda in a life-threatening situation. What’s happened to her? The paramedics rush into the Queen Vic to treat Linda whilst Johnny sits by her hospital bed, terrified. Devastated, he blames Gina for what happened to Linda and orders her to move out – but what happened?

Speaking about Linda’s feelings in the run up to the trial, she said: “I think she does feel it rests on her shoulders. At the end of the day, she still feels this enormous responsibility for the whole thing [Keanu’s murder] because she was the one that did it. Regardless of what anyone says, she is ultimately responsible. She’s not just an innocent bystander in all of it.

“Her conscience is also at play, because Linda is still in a place where she feels very unsure about the actions that she is taking, and on some level feels like she should be the one that is being punished … I think the woman that walked into that police station and gave that false witness statement a few months ago has receded into the background, and Linda today is now very unsure of herself. She’s scared that she’s going to forget what to say and forget what she said, because obviously it was all lies. The reality of standing in a court in front of a judge, a jury, and giving evidence, is really starting to kick in. It’s unsettling her.”
