Hollyoaks’ Frankie Osborne to open up about JJ’s sexual abuse

Frankie makes a brave decision.

Hollyoaks have revealed that Frankie Osborne will open up about her brother JJ’s sexual abuse next week.

Since March this year, the soap has been exploring the sensitive topic of sibling sexual abuse with teenage twins JJ and Frankie.

JJ’s abuse has impacted the whole family, as he has urged Frankie not to tell anyone, and has said on several occasions that he will stop if she keeps quiet.

Frankie has even accused Nancy of pushing her down the stairs in recent weeks – really she fainted and fell after JJ attacked her. This left Nancy facing trial for a crime she didn’t commit.

Last month, Frankie told a comatose Freddie about JJ, though it was unlikely that he would have heard what she said.

Now the soap has confirmed that in upcoming scenes, Frankie will finally tell someone else about her horrific abuse.

In scenes that will air next week, Nancy’s plea hearing arrives, and she is looking forward to clearing her name.

Frankie is getting excited while reading about her new dance school in London, where she was desperate to go to free herself from JJ.

But it is also a good day for her brother who receives the news that he got the football contract with United, with the Osbornes delighted for him. As JJ celebrates his success, Frankie finds things difficult as Nancy’s trial approaches.

Meanwhile, Nancy is concerned that she might be found guilty and tells Darren that she can’t live in the same house as the twins so he will have to choose between them.

But Darren reassures her that she will be found innocent and tries to help by asking Frankie to go over what happened the night she fell down the stairs once again.

Later in the week, Frankie is preparing to leave for dance school, while it is also the day that JJ officially signs for his new football club.

As the Osbornes leave for the club, Darren tells Nancy he thinks he is getting close to finding out what is wrong with Frankie.

At the football club, JJ plays happy families, but Frankie is alarmed when JJ says he will visit her at dance school.

That evening at the pub flat, the Osbornes celebrate JJ’s signing, but downstairs in the empty pub, Darren makes a breakthrough with his daughter.

Frankie bravely decides to open up to Darren, and she tells him about the abuse she has suffered at the hands of JJ.

How will Darren react, and what will he do with this information?

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
