Hollyoaks confirms Blue’s identity in huge twist as ‘prime suspect’ is ruled out

Hollyoaks is set to give viewers the answers viewers have been craving as it ends the month-long mystery of who is Blue later this week, revealing the notorious gangster’s identity.

The mysterious Blue, as viewers know, became a talking point among villagers last month after his signature calling card – Blue-coated bullets – were recovered from the scene a shooting.

Detective Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) confirmed that the infamous Blue, a gangster who is feared by the criminal underworld, had gone to ground seven years ago but now he’s back – and he’s out of blood.

More specifically, Warren Fox’s (Jamie Lomas) blood, with Blue determined to destroy the mechanic’s life in every way imaginable.

Warren has been determined to come out on top but he’s got no idea who he’s dealing with and he’ll no doubt rue the day he ever thought he could take on Blue and win.

The hard-man oddly believed that Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham) was Blue, as did Norma Crow (Glynis Barber), despite the fact that Freddie is too young to be the mysterious killer, whose reputation date back decades.

But after weeks of speculation – from both characters and fans – the mystery will be solved later this week (next week for E4 viewers), as Blue’s identity is finally revealed to audiences.

Despite looming threats from Blue, Warren attempts to carry on his life, though he’s jumpy on the day of Mercedes McQueen’s (Jennifer Metcalfe) twins’ naming ceremony.

With the McQueens refusing to give Warren the time of day in the wake of Hunter’s (Theo Graham) death, the clan snub the ceremony, with Leela and Joel Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter and Rory Douglas-Speed) and Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Dave Williams (Dominic Power) the only guests in attendance.

Warren, however, gets distracted when he receives a CCTV notification, which alerts him that someone has entered his house.

The hard-man is left reeling to discover that Rex (Jonny Labey) is still alive and Mercedes later walks in on their conversation, which forces Warren to admit that he didn’t get rid of the drugs.

Mercedes is livid, warning Rex that she is the person he should be afraid of, throwing him out of the house, with Warren forced to explain himself, reiterating that he’ll protect her.

But Mercedes is fed up of his lies and issues him with an ultimatum – he needs to turn his back on crime forever.

Elsewhere in the village, Misbah Maalik (Heavy Virdi) grows suspicious of Donny and, after locating blue bullets in his possession, she demands answers.

Donny is left with little choice but to come clean, admitting that he used to be a police officer who was looking for Blue, revealing that his search for the hardened criminal ultimately consumed him.

This rules Donny, who was a prime suspect for fans, out of the equation and, with an ally in Misbah now in his corner, Donny decides to bounce ideas of her, getting warmer and warmer to solving the conundrum.

Blue, meanwhile, holds a meeting with one of his cohorts and, finally, his identity is revealed as the criminal vows to not stop his mission until he has taken everything from Warren.

In subsequent scenes, the mysterious killer looms large, with Warren unaware of just how much danger he’s in. Blue then decides to move Norma’s body and thus breaks into the flat, where he finds Joel in a drug-fuelled haze.

It seems like Blue is in the clear as he carries on with his mission despite Joel’s presence but Warren soon arrives with the twins and, to his horror, he sees someone moving around inside.

Will he discover his mum’s body? And will he finally figure out who it is that’s been out to get him all this time?
