They’re starring in the same show this Christmas
Former Coronation Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson has been seen teaming up with a Strictly Come Dancing pro after they were ‘on the run’ together.
The actress, who fans of the ITV soap will know for playing Nicky Wheatley, is starring as Tinkerbell at Liverpool’s The Auditorium, at the M&S Bank arena, in their production of Peter Pan and will star alongside dancer Kai Widdrington as Captain Hook.
This week, as he returned to rehearsals before opening night, Kai shared a snap of his script in the auditorium and said: “My new offfice for the rest of 2024.”
He then re-shared a picture of himself and Kimberly, who plays Nicky Wheatley in ITV’s Corrie, which she had captioned: “@kaiwidd Panto week,” before he added: “Here we go!!!”
The pair have now got their panto stints underway and Kimberly took to Instagram with a string of pictures of their pair in their costumes ready to hit the stage. She captioned the post: “From being in the run to now opening the run @mandsbankarena for ‘Peter Pan’ in Liverpool.”
By being ‘on the run’, Kimberly means taking part in Celebrity Hunted, the Channel 4 challenge show, which sees celebrities go on the run while an elite team of hunters tries to track them down, in aid of Stand Up To Cancer. It will return to screens from January 5 on Channel 4 at 9pm.
Dancers Kai and Giovanni Pernice will compete against Loose Women’s Denise Welch and her husband Lincoln Townley as well as Blue singer Duncan James and model Christine McGuinness. Former EastEnders star Danielle Harold and Coronation Street actress Kimberly Hart-Simpson will also take part alongside news anchors Simon McCoy and Lucrezia Millarini; and podcasters David Whitely and Zeze Millz.
The contestants will attempt to evade capture for a fortnight while the hunters use a vast wealth of resources to catch them. Among the hunters’ team are police and military personnel who have access to CCTV footage, helicopters, drones, dogs, media campaigns and the latest cyber forensic technology.
