Tina Dingle (Samantha Power) is given an offer in Emmerdale this coming week as her secret about being Vinny’s (Bradley Johnson) biological mother is exposed.
Tina returned to the village on the day of Zak Dingle’s (Steve Halliwell) funeral. Since then, amid the trouble, she’s been in a battle with Mandy (Lisa Riley) over keeping her connection to Vinny a secret.
In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Mandy continues to try and encourage Tina to leave the village by having her caravan moved to a random field.
Despite her demands, Mandy’s outraged when she gets back home and finds Tina already there. With Vinny standing beside Tina, it doesn’t take Mandy very long to realise he now knows everything.
The next day, Mandy’s secret becomes public knowledge and, feeling betrayed, the Dingles probe her which allows Tina to slip away unnoticed.
As the family demand answers, Vinny feels there’s no other option but to disown Mandy after all of the lies.
Tina then finds her son and pleads her case to him.
With his head all over the place, Vinny reaches one conclusion when it comes to moving forward. He tells Tina that she can either stay in his life or take the £50k, return Zak’s will, and leave the Dales for good.
But what will she decide?
Discussing these scenes, actor Bradley Johnson said: ‘Vinny comes across as a not very sharp person, but he’s got his wits about him and he’s been told from a lot of people that Tina’s here under false pretences, she wants the house, she wants the money. So Vinny plays a sort of little game with Tina. Vinny’s got quite a lot of money in the bank from selling Mill Cottage.
‘He kind of gives Tina an ultimatum and thinks, “I’ll play you at your own game here. I’ll offer you £50,000 and you leave the village for good, or you don’t take it and you actually want something to do with me.” And that’ll tell Vinny everything he needs to know about whether she’s here for the money, or here because she actually wants something to do with her own son.’
‘I think it would make him really upset’, he added, reflecting on the possibility of Tina choosing money over her son.
‘Anyone coming in to have a relationship with Vinny, at the end of the day it’s his biological mother, someone he was told wanted nothing to do with him. She’s come into his life, and actually she’s blood Dingle. It’s not somebody random, it’s actual blood Dingle. That makes Zak his granddad, Belle and Sam his aunt and uncle.
‘It’s a big deal for him and I think he knows that she’s not the nicest of characters, but he hopes she’ll do the right thing and stick around and be the mother that she’s not been for 20-odd years.’
