EastEnders actor and Strictly star Jamie Borthwick was seen with his former co-star Jazzy Phoenix at the London Palladium as he continues to be plagued by romance rumours
EastEnders favourite Jamie Borthwick was spotted with his ex-castmate at the Robin Hood performance earlier this week (Thursday 12 December). The pair enjoyed the show at the London Palladium and posed for a picture together outside the theatre. The star, beloved for his role as Jay Brown in Walford, was seen enjoying his time at the theatre with Jazzy Phoenix, known to soap fans as the enigmatic escort Nadine Keller.
In the drama, Jay turns to Nadine, who bears a striking resemblance to his deceased wife Lola Pearce, only to be conned by her fake pregnancy. Although Jazzy bid farewell to the show in April, she’s remained close with Jamie, evidenced by their snaps together on social media over the past year.
The pair were spotted hanging out on social media with one post a few months ago Jazzy taking a mirror selfie along with the caption: “The weekly gossip = complete.” On the next slide, they filmed themselves engaging in ‘carpool karaoke’ singing songs from Disney film High School Musical including Start of Something New. Previously, the pair sparked romance rumours as Jazzy rested her head on Jamie’s shoulder on an Instagram snap.
The pair have appeared to be close from the start. In September 2023, when she joined the show, Jazzy posted a video with Jamie as they hugged on set, exclaiming: “That’s a wrap!” as fans flooded the comments. “I’m sorry these two would be such a beautiful couple,” penned one, while another said: “This is the cutest!”
Fresh from his Strictly Come Dancing departure, where the 30-year-old actor triumphed in the Christmas special alongside pro Nancy Xu, Jamie has had more downtime. Despite a stellar turn on the dance floor, he recently faced a playful grilling about his personal life.
Jamie’s witty retort to questions about a potential romance and lifestyle restrictions during the competition was telling: “No booze ban for me,” he chuckled to the Daily Mail. “I’ve never drunk ever in my life and no one loves me, so I can’t do a sex ban. No bans for me, just loads of food.”
Jamie, who was once rumoured to be more than just friends with his former on-screen wife Danielle Harold after the duo appeared close at various award ceremonies, has maintained they were simply pals. Following Lola’s death in the show, Jamie’s character Jay’s plot thickened with Nadine, and whispers of a budding romance off-screen began to swirl, reports the Mirror.
Addressing the speculation last Christmas, Jamie joked to the Mirror, “They linked me with Jazzy and they linked me with Danielle. I’m just surprised they haven’t linked me with Nancy [Xu].”
