Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay Brown on EastEnders, has been spending time with his former co-star, Jazzy Phoenix, since they were involved in an escorting storyline on the BBC soap
EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick was joined by his former co-star at a performance of Robin Hood last night.
The actor, best known for his role as longterm Walford resident Jay Brown, was pictured at the London Palladium with Jazzy Phoenix, who had a stint on the show playing escort Nadine Keller. In the show, Jay sought comfort from Nadine – a lookalike of his dead wife Lola Pearce – as he struggled to come to terms with his loss, only for her to later extort money from him using a fake pregnancy bump.
Jazzy’s final scenes aired in April this year, but she has continued to spend time with Jamie away from work, with the pair posing for social media pictures since last year.
Jamie has a bit more time to hang out after was recently voted off Strictly Come Dancing. The 30-year-old had already won the 2023 Christmas special of the talent show with professional Nancy Xu.
And while Jamie received rave reviews for his performance on the dance floor, off stage he had a less positive response to a cheeky question about his love life.
The performer quipped “no-one loves him” when asked if he had imposed a sex-ban to fully concentrate on the contest. “No booze ban for me,” he told the Daily Mail. “I’ve never drunk ever in my life and no one loves me, so I can’t do a sex ban. No bans for me, just loads of food.”
Jamie was previously romantically linked to his former on-screen wife Danielle Harold after they were seen looking cosy at several award shows but the actor has insisted the pair were just friends.
After Lola passed away onscreen, Jay’s storyline with Nadine ramped up – and so did their connection away from the cameras.
Speaking last Christmas, Jamie told the Mirror: “They linked me with Jazzy and they linked me with Danielle. I’m just surprised they haven’t linked me with Nancy [Xu].”
