Kim Tate has been an Emmerdale icon since 1989, but with multiple husbands under her belt and one estranged son, fans are urging to see more of her own family
Emmerdale fans have been left demanding soap bosses introduce Kim Tate’s (Claire King) sister as the Home Farm owner has “no one to look out for her”.
Kim first arrived in the Dales 35 years ago before leaving in 1999. But in 2018, Kim returned, causing havoc in the village ever since.
Since her debut, Kim has been married four times, including husbands Frank Tate, Steve Marchant, Graham Foster, and current spouse Will Taylor.
This year Kim and Will’s (Dean Andrews) marriage has hit the rocks with their future unknown, and she also has an estranged son Jamie. However, Kim appears to be short on biological family members with whom she can share her grand home.
Fans of the ITV soap have now taken to social media to demand that blood relatives of the iconic character be introduced and point out that Kim’s sister was mentioned on-screen years ago.
Taking to Reddit, one Emmerdale fan asked: “Has Emmerdale ever explored to introduced any of Kim’s family from before she was a Tate?
“It’s quite common we get random Tate’s popping up but I wonder if they have ever explored her past pre Frank Tate?”
Another replied: “Yes. Her Uncle made a one guest appearance at her second wedding to Frank (1994). Her sister was mentioned in the 90s.”
A third explained: “Her sister has been mentioned a couple of times, in the early nineties, as having been a model.”
“Samantha Womack (EastEnders late, great Ronnie Mitchell) would make a great sister for Kim. Blonde, beautiful, sophisticated looking with a devilish look in those blue eyes. Yep I could definitely see that”, suggested one fan.
Meanwhile, one fan suggested Kim needs more family in the village: “Kim needs family. Kim literally has no one who will truly look out for her.”
They added: “I thought Gabby could play that role, but I think it’s time they introduced Kim’s actual family and not another Tate out for revenge or family members out to get her.
“It would also mean she stopped pandering to ungrateful Dawn. I’m not clued up on Kim’s family tree but a loyal long lost sister who had kids would be nice, or just anybody who would have her back.”
Another replied: “There was a sister mentioned on a handful of times in the 90’s. I think they were close even if she wasn’t on screen.
“I truly believe she could be the character who had her back. I do agree she needs someone because everyone just treats her like dirt, and there’s no need to really.”
Will Kim’s sister ever rock up to Emmerdale?
