EastEnders’ Rosie Miller star looks unrecognisable in forgotten Only Fools and Horses role

The Miller family, with parents Rosie and Keith and children Mickey, Dawn, Demi, and Darren, was introduced to Walford in 2004, and they were anything but quiet.

EastEnders has seen many families come and go, but the Miller family remains unforgettable, particularly with the return of the lovable rogue Mickey (Joe Swash ) to Walford for a brief visit.

The BBC One soap fans will recall Rosie Miller (Gerry Cowper) and her couch potato husband Keith (David Spinx), who seemed permanently glued to his armchair and TV. The Millers pitched up on the Square in 2004 with their offspring Dawn (Kara Tointon) and Mickey and twins Demi (Shana Swash) and Darren (Charlie G. Hawkins).

Labelled as troublemakers from the start, the Millers were met with anything but open arms by their new neighbours. This was especially ‘true’ for Pauline Fowler (Wendy Richard), who was appalled by 13-year-old Demi’s teenage pregnancy.

Despite their rocky start, the boisterous clan quickly won over viewers as we tuned in for their tumultuous escapades throughout the 2000s.

Geraldine “Gerry” Cowper portrayed the Miller family matriarch Rosie in EastEnd ers from 2004 to 2006, and she also appeared in Only Fools and Horses, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Now 66, the West London-born actress is renowned for her portrayal of Rowan Morrison in the 1973 horror classic The Wicker Man and boasts an extensive resume with appearances in Casualty, Law and Order, The Bill, and Dick Turpin, among others.

Gerry also appeared in two iconic episodes of Only Fools and Horses as Lisa, the attractive niece of Trigger (Roger Lloyd Pack), featuring in ‘Tea for Three’ and ‘The Frog’s Legacy’.

In the episode Tea for Three, broadcast in September 1986, Del Boy (played by David Jason ) and Rodney Trotter (portrayed by Nicholas Lyndhurst) find themselves vying for Lisa’s attention.

In a desperate bid to win her over, the brothers invite their romantic interest to their high-rise flat for tea, but Rodney is already blushing from a sunbed prank.

Seeking revenge on Del Boy for his humiliating antics, Rodney persuades him to try hand-gliding over the countryside, which ends disastrously. In an unexpected twist, it turns out that Lisa was engaged all along.

Over a year later, Gerry reprised her role as Lisa in the legendary sitcom when her character tied the knot. The Frog’s Legacy, aired on Christmas Day in 1987, follows Del Boy on a mission to retrieve stolen gold bullion.

Peckham’s beloved wheeler-dealer Del and his brother Rodney discover they are set to inherit a fortune after running into an old family friend at Lisa’s wedding in Hampshire.

The gold was owned by Frederick Robdal, also known as Freddie the Frog, who bequeathed the wealth to his close friend Joan Trotter, who then passed it on to her sons Del and Rodney. In this episode, Gerry Cowper appears as Lisa at the start of the episode.

While Joe Swash has reprised his role as Mickey on EastEnders, Gerry has not returned to Walford since her departure 18 years ago.

Could Rosie Miller ever make a comeback to Albert Square? In the world of soap operas, anything can happen.

EastEnders airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer
