Having been on air for 64 years, Coronation Street is the longest-running soap in the world – and it turns out it has a pice of fanfic worthy of that legacy.
One devoted fan has created an astonishing 475-chapter fan fiction masterpiece based on the ITV soap.
As reported by The Mirror, it clocks up an incredible 1,087,882 words, the weighty tome is even longer than the Bible, which is more than 700,000 words.
Titled Carla’s Angels (Part Two), it focuses on factory boss Carla Connor, who has been played by actress Alison King since 2006.
It is published on the website fanfiction.net, which is a giant online library of fiction penned by fans of films and TV shows.
The story – penned by the anonymous user CorrieFan23 – is in good company too, as there are more than 1,300 pieces of Coronation Street fanfic on the site.
Meanwhile the author of Carla’s fanfic will undoubtedly be pleased to hear the character has a central role to Corrie’s festive storylines this year.
New spoilers have revealed how she and girlfriend Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) have a rocky festive period ahead of them, having made their relationship official in recent scenes.
