Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) is set to be exposed in an epic fashion this Christmas in EastEnders.
It’s been a long time coming, and the reveal is finally approaching.
For months now, viewers of the BBC soap have watched in horror as Cindy pursued an affair with her former step-son, not content with the fact she couldn’t get her hands on ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon).
It’s a wonder they haven’t been exposed earlier, following a number of near-misses and having been caught in the act by both her former flame David Wicks (Michael French) and his uncle Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho).
Little do they know, Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) accidentally recorded a lengthy conversation between Cindy and David, where she candidly discussed her love for George and fling with Junior.
The tape, which was supposed to have acquired birdsong, has since been burnt onto CDs and flogged to the Albert Square residents.
A blissfully unaware Cindy and Junior even purchased copies for themselves.
In Christmas week, Cindy discovers the incriminating evidence, and realises that it’s fallen into the wrong person’s hands.
Several residents have grudges against her; from Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), who Cindy has been supplying with drugs after she clocked onto her suspicious behaviour, to Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), who has never been her biggest fan.
Who is blackmailing her?
As the threat of the truth outing is now more apparent than ever, Cindy is forced to do all she can to stop the floor from falling beneath her feet.
She desperately hopes that her action plan will be enough to stop them from spilling.
Things are already tense at the Beale household, with Lauren arguing with Peter (Thomas Law) over recent events.
Ian (Adam Woodyatt) tries to calm the atmosphere before the whole clan settle down for a family meal.
Fearing that her future will be drastically altered should she not take action, Cindy concocts a plan that stuns her loved ones.
Things are about to get a whole lot worse when George extends an invitation for their two families to be united for Christmas dinner, putting her and Junior in a potentially perilous situation.
On Christmas Eve, Cindy receives another piece of earth-shattering information.
When the big day approaches, the only things under the tree are secrets and lies, served up neatly with a huge bombshell – and all the trimmings!
All hell breaks loose around the table, as everyone throws in their own enraged opinion and accusations.
Will Walford ever be the same again?
