ITV Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle ‘makes sudden exit’ from the village after visit from unwanted guest

Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle was left in a panic on Monday’s episode as he suddenly exited the village after an unwanted guest’s visit.

Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, was seen in a state of panic on Monday (December 9), making hasty decisions to leave the village after an unexpected visit from someone he’d rather not see.

Devotees of the ITV drama are aware that Cain succumbed to temptation and had a one-night stand with his sister-in-law Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) while his wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) was undergoing surgery for a brain tumour.

Since their indiscretion, Cain has been dodging Ruby to keep their tryst under wraps and has succeeded so far.

But the plot thickened when Caleb Miligan (William Ash) decided to visit Moira at home after the surgery, insisting that his wife Ruby accompany him.

Ruby, bearing lavish flowers and chocolates, entered the home of Cain and Moira, much to Cain’s dismay, reports Leeds Live.

“You shouldn’t be here,” Cain muttered to Ruby. “You think I wanted to come? Caleb insisted,” she retorted.

Feeling cornered and desperate to prevent Moira from suspecting their affair, Cain hastily concocted an excuse about needing to travel to Dudley to collect a vintage car, leaving Moira feeling let down.

Unbeknownst to Cain, who fibbed about his destination, his loving wife was organising a surprise birthday bash for him as a gesture of gratitude for his support during her illness.

Matty (Ash Palmisciano) expressed concern over whether his mother was fit enough to handle party preparations so soon after her operation. Still, she reassured him that Chas (Lucy Pargeter) was handling all the arrangements.

Later in the episode, Cain found himself sitting in his pickup truck on a rural road, wrestling with the consequences of his actions and the potential ruin of his marriage.

Upon receiving a message from Moira enquiring about his return home, he responded with a lie, stating that he needed to stay overnight. The question remains: How long will Cain manage to stay away from the village and evade Moira?

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
