‘Everyone who works on the show-this is for you all’

Only one soap could be named as the favourite – and we are glad it was the one in the Yorkshire Dales.

Emmerdale has won the Favourite Soap category at the TV Times Award 2024 due to its dedicated fans. The awards are held annually to celebrate best in British television as nominations and winners are entirely chosen by its readers on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Categories range from Best Soap to Best Presenter and is a healthy competition between all those involved.

Lisa Riley was one of the first Emmerdale cast to celebrate and posted a picture of some of the cast with the award. She added a caption that said: “CONGRATULATIONS TEAM @emmerdale
