The following article contains spoilers from an episode of EastEnders that hasn’t aired on BBC One yet, but is available to view on BBC iPlayer.
Nish Panesar’s (Navin Chowdhry) escape from prison has been a success in EastEnders, and now the Panesars are in danger.
This week, Nish was transferred from jail to a hospital. He told his family his health had declined and was entering the palliative care stage, which left Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) feeling worried at the prospect of his dad dying.
Nish requested a visit from Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) but when it ended with her standing up to the abuser, his real plan was revealed.
After finding out that Suki and Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) wedding plans were continuing, his anger reached new heights, so he paid a doctor to spin a story about him being days away from death.
This got Nish to the hospital and closer to the Panesars, but when Ravi refused to stop Suki and Eve’s wedding on his behalf, he decided to go ‘nuclear’.
With help from the doctor, Nish was placed in an ambulance and driven across town. They were stopped on a road by two gunmen, who helped Nish leave the vehicle and ultimately escape custody.
Tonight’s episode of the BBC One soap saw the Panesars in a panic as the learnt of Nish’s plan. After going in search of a missing Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), the family gathered around the table to discuss measures to protect themselves.
It was during that moment that saw the doctor arrive. He apologised for being fooled by Nish, and told the Panesars he really thought the man was dying.
This was all in an attempt to cover for Nish and create an alibi for himself. Right before the episode ended, the doctor visited Nish, who is hiding in an abandoned flat in Walford.
The man told Nish his family seemed scared, which was the perfect development in his eyes.
Nish is hellbent on stopping Suki and Eve from getting married, which will happen on New Year’s Day.
But will he succeed?
