Coronation Street fans are convinced scenes on Wednesday night teased a link between two sinister storylines on the ITV soap, including the death of Les Battersby
Viewers of Coronation Street think they might know who is involved in the death of Les Battersby.
His family found out there could be more to his mysterious death on Wednesday night, with one character keen to investigate. The icon was killed off in heartbreaking scenes offscreen recently, with daughters Leanne and Toyah left devastated.
Les’ stepson Chesney Brown was one character left alarmed though when it came to Les’ will reading. As all the family gathered in the latest episode, solicitor Adam Barlow had some concerning news to share.
Last week the police knocked at Leanne’s door to bring the sad news that her father had been killed at work, with him working at an abattoir. They didn’t go into detail about what happened or how he died with it still seemingly being looked into.
This week his family wanted answers, and wanted to know how exactly he died. But Adam had some weird news to share in that no new details had been given.
The company failed to disclose what happened to him and how he died, but instead offered them £50,000 compensation. If they accepted, they would need to sign an NDA.

Chesney was alarmed by the discovery during Les’ will reading, and called it dodgy and vowed to look into it. Now, amid a mystery storyline with Chesney and a van driver, fans think they know who is involved in Les’ death.
Viewers have wondered if the plots are linked, and whether the person seemingly harassing Chesney, the van driver, could have killed Les. Might they have been involved in the death of Les, or might they know something? Could they be following Chesney to scare him into leaving things alone?
Viewers predicted the mystery van driver knew something, as one guessed on X: “Right so now that van could be some butcher b******s trying to intimidate Les’ nearest and dearest.” Another agreed: “I wonder if the guys in the van had a hand in Les’ ‘accident’. It all sounds too dodgy.”
A third viewer posted: “So is the mystery man in the van who has been hassling Chesney connected to Les being killed at work?” Another theory predicted it could lead to the return of Chesney’s mother Cilla Brown. It read: “All this mention of Cilla makes me think she’s either the van man or she has something to do with Les’ dodgy will, I’m being delusional here and hoping ar Cilla will return within the coming episodes.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
