Coronation Street fans have begun to speculate what Leanne Battersby will do to get back at her ex Nick Tilsley on the ITV soap, after his fling with her sister Toyah
There was a bizarre yet possibly hint-filled scene on Coronation Street on Wednesday night, as Leanne Battersby sought revenge on her ex Nick Tilsley.
Nick and Leanne ended their marriage recently, after she uncovered his affair with her own sister Toyah Battersby. Now Nick and Toyah are enjoying a secret romance, preparing to tell Leanne the truth.
Leanne knows what’s going on though, and amid her hinting she wants to reunite with Nick it seems she’s seeking revenge. She’s already seemingly targeting an oblivious Toyah with a sinister new plot, acting like everything is okay.
But could she have something darker planned for cheating husband Nick? A scene on Wednesday night teased she was planning on killing him, or at least wanted to.
In a weird moment Nick was shown fixing the Christmas lights, only for Leanne to switch them on leaving him horrified. As Nick was electrocuted offscreen we heard him screaming out, as Leanne told him: “That’s what you get for messing with a Battersby.”
Suddenly the scene went back to normal and the lights were fine, as was Nick. Leanne had imagined it all, but could this be a foreshadowing of what’s ahead?

Could Leanne turn killer and take the ultimate revenge on Nick? One theory suggested so, given there’s a fire at Nick’s family’s house in the coming weeks.
One theory suggested it could be Leanne acting out, if Nick is staying there at the time. The theory read: “We know the Platts’ home gets set on fire early next year cause they’re planning a big stunt around it.
“I think Leanne will cause it in a fit of anger (Nick will probably be crashing there after getting thrown out of his own flat again). Not a murder attempt or anything, maybe just a brief moment of madness.
“I know it seems out there, but they’re pushing that Leanne is focusing on the ‘Battersby way’ of dealing with things so it has to be some kind of violent thing she’s planning for revenge.” Could the scene with the lights have backed this idea?
Another theory was that Leanne would find a way to get back with Nick just to take everything he has. Could Leanne fake wanting to get back with him and then as the theory suggests “clean him out”? Meanwhile, Leanne was recently shown setting up a bank account in Toyah’s name – but what will she do with it?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
