Emmerdale’s Nicola reels as Belle shares big news from prison about Tom King

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (December 4) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.

Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) was left seething when Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) confided in her about Tom King’s (James Chase) not guilty plea.

Tom, as viewers know, was arrested not once but twice last week after evidence was uncovered that corroborated Belle’s allegations of abuse.

The villain was charged and subsequently attempted to flee but he was apprehended by authorities, with Belle having a role to play in such a thing as he was arrested again.

Tom has been denied bail this time and is therefore awaiting trial, with Belle finding out on Wednesday (December 4) that the abuser is intending to plead not guilty.

The events planner popped over to Victoria Cottage to share the development with Nicola, who wasn’t pleased but not surprised either, knowing full well that Tom never takes responsibility for his actions.

Nicola, as viewers will recall, worked out that Tom is not to be trusted after she discovered that he’d terrified Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce) over the missing tablet.

Angelica, meanwhile, listened in to Belle’s conversation with Nicola and subsequently relayed such information to Tom, who has been gaslighting her into doing his bidding.

The abuser claimed that having Jimmy (Nick Miles) on his side would look good in court and Angel therefore agreed to talk to her dad, unaware that Tom is simply using her to get what he wants.

Can Angelica convince Jimmy to visit Tom?

Or, having seen Tom for who he truly is, will Jimmy fight back against his nephew’s manipulation?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
