Emmerdale star Will Ash ‘gutted’ at co-star exit as Patsy Kensit fan theory addressed

Emmerdale fans will recall Patsy Kensit played Sadie King in Emmerdale

An Emmerdale fave has said a co-star’s exit left him ‘gutted’.

This admission came as Will Ash, 47, discussed the new additions to the family of his character Caleb Milligan. After arriving in the village solo, with a connection to the Dingle clan, fans have been introduced to Caleb’s wife and children over the last two years.

Viewers will soon see Caleb’s daughter Steph, played by Georgia Jay, and father-in-law Anthony, played by Nicholas Day, appear to add to the happy families (or not) dynamic. These new additions follow the introductions to Caleb’s wife Ruby, played by Beth Cordingly, and son Nicky.

The latter, played by Lewis Cope, left the village earlier this year. Commenting on the exit of co-star Lewis, during an Emmerdale press day, Will said: “I was gutted to see Lewis go but he wanted to spread his wings.

“To have Georgia come in and Beth. It has been really fantastic. Beth is brilliant and Georgia is as well. We work a lot on this (Mill Cottage) set and we enjoy the work together. It is great to see the family get bigger.

“When Caleb came in it was mentioned of Ruby, saying ‘your mum’ to Nicky but I never thought, I don’t know why, that they’d bring anyone in. It did seem like people really wanted to know who she was. So, it has been really good.”

A point Beth felt appropriate to bring up, and dismiss, a popular fan theory, from prior to her arrival. She joked: “She (Caleb’s wife) wasn’t Patsy Kensit!” Emmerdale viewers will likely remember Patsy played Sadie King, in the ITV soap, between 2004 and 2006 with some claiming she might return as Caleb’s wife. That proved not to be the case.

Looking ahead to the growing family’s upcoming storylines, Beth is promising fireworks.

“We’ve had some fantastic writing recently and that comes the more you work,” she said. “We’ve got some amazing storylines coming up, that we can’t talk about, which are really exciting to film.”
