Alan is one of the most popular campmates

Coronation Street actor Colson Smith has thrown a subtle dig at co-star Alan Halsall. The Craig Tinker star posted a photo of Alan taking part in the latest I’m a Celebrity trial last night.

The photo uploaded to Colson’s Instagram account showed Alan looking far from amused as he is surrounded by bugs and gunk. The image was captioned “How’s that golf holiday going pal?”

When Alan and Coleen arrived at the trial area they were told they had to transport ‘jungle nasties’ into a wheelbarrow below a platform. Alan started up top, using a tray which was positioned around his neck to catch all the jungle nasties and send them down to Coleen who was waiting below.

Coleen had to transport the waste in the wheelbarrow around the farmyard to the weighing scales. The more weight they added to the scales. It wasn’t long before there was miscommunication between the two with the distance between them meaning they couldn’t quite hear one another.

Despite the struggles, they won all 10 stars for camp with a minute to spare. They had campmates thinking they had only won two stars which led to a delighted camp at teatime when the truth came out that they would be eating a full meal.

Alan often shares photos playing golf and one of his final posts before heading into the jungle was from an end of season golf fancy dress event. He said: “I didn’t get to play much this year, but what bunch of top, top! People !! Great night and here’s to next year”. The 42-year-old underwent ACL reconstruction surgery last year.

He added: “It was a bit of a shock when I got the knee injury last year and whilst I am signed off surgically, I still have several months of physio ahead of me. Colson also headed down under when the show launched as he took part in the I’m A Celebrity spin off show hosted by reigning King of the Jungle, Sam Thompson, and stand up comedian, Joel Dommett.
