There was a shock return for one villain on the BBC soap on Monday night, as the latest episode saw Nish Panesar make a comeback weeks after his exit with him shown in prison
Just as EastEnders fans thought they’d seen the last of evil Nish Panesar, he was back on Monday night.
The villain, played by actor Navin Chowdhry, returned to the BBC soap in a twist as he made contact with his grandson Nugget. Just weeks on from him departing, for what fans thought was forever, he was back.
Shown looking unwell in prison, he made a call to Nugget after fuming over the fact no one had visited him. He’d taken the blame for Keanu Taylor’s murder, after realising ex-wife Suki Panesar’s involvement.
After years of making her life a misery, and targeting her in a vicious revenge plot for the past year, on and off, over her romance with fiancée Eve Unwin, he finally ended his games. But Suki said that while Nish had been sent to prison for the rest of his days, he’d done it to have one last hold over her.
The character had told her to make a promise never to marry anyone else, and to end things with Eve. So to find out on Monday that Suki had reunited with Eve and their wedding was back on left Nish raging.

Surely this puts Suki at risk now, as he could blow her and The Six’s cover over Keanu’s death. While this wouldn’t come between Sukeve as Suki has already told Eve the truth, it could bring an end to their happiness if Suki gets in trouble.
But why is Nish back onscreen? The reason is Nish is angry at his loved ones for ditching him since his imprisonment. He made a call to Nugget in the latest episode to find out why no one had visited him including Suki, wanting this to change.
Still having a hold over the family since his departure, he called out Nugget for not visiting ahead of his plea hearing. But it was clear Nish was keeping tabs on Suki though as he wanted to ask about what was going on, and whether she’d done as he’d asked.
It was then that Nugget passed on the news that Suki and Eve were together and were planning to get married once more. With his plan in tatters Nish was left raging, but Nugget ended the call saying he had to go and it was clear Nish was up to something.
It was written all over his face that he wouldn’t let this go, so what doe she have planned for Suki? Viewers predicted this wouldn’t be the last we see of him, and that he could come back for one final showdown with Suki – but will it all end in tears?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
