Emmerdale’s Leyla Harding is reportedly getting killed off – and the soap has now appeared to reveal how she dies in a tragic twist
Emmerdale has appeared to reveal how Leyla Harding will be killed off in a heartbreaking twist.
Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) first set foot in the Dales back in 2008. And since then, she has been involved in several hard-hitting storylines and comedically fuelled performances.
From drug use to scandalous affairs, her time in the famous village has not been short of drama. The character was also famously shot by killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) earlier this year.
However, in October, it was reported that Leyla will be killed off in an intense exit storyline that promises to leave fans shaken. The news of actor Roxy’s departure comes after a huge year in her career, which saw her take part in Dancing on Ice and ITV’s reality series Drama Queens.
A source told The Sun: “Roxy has adored her time on the soap and has made so many happy memories since first joining when she was just 17. The cast have become like family to her, and she has grown so much as an actress. But now, she feels it’s the perfect time to spread her wings and try something new.”
Now, fans are certain the soap has dropped a huge clue as to how Leyla dies – and it’s devastating. Over in the Dales recently, Leyla has been on hand to help Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) plan her wedding to Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).
Last week, Brenda was insistent on fireworks being a part of their big day – but was talked out of getting them by Leyla. What’s more, electrician Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) also visited Eric recently, to help with an issue.
However, viewers think the fireworks and electricity mentions could be hinting at how Leyla will die in the village. On social media, one fan mused: “With all the talk of electricity, fire and fireworks, I wonder if it’s a hint, to do with Leyla’s exit?”
Someone else replied: “I’ve been thinking this too, so sad she’s leaving!” A third chimed in: “Oh god I hope not [sick face emoji] but perhaps it will be a big stunt or something.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
