Coronation Street’s Cait Fitton declares love for co-star and issues personal update

Coronation Street star Cait Fitton has sweetly declared her love for one of her co-stars as they celebrated a personal milestone. The actress is close friends with actor Paddy Bever.

The pair, who play Lauren Bolton and Max Turner in the ITV soap, have recently found themselves at the forefront of the show having been revealed as being involved in Joel Deering’s murder.

When Joel, played by Calum Lill, arrived in Weatherfield, he appeared as a charming solicitor who Dee-Dee Bailey soon fell head over heels in love with. But under his smooth exterior, fans soon discovered Joel was hiding a dark secret – a penchant for younger, underprivileged girls.

When the truth came out, he quickly found himself as public enemy number one and his ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey and DS Lisa Swain teamed up to bring him down. Just as some kind of justice appeared to be on the cards, in September, Joel’s disappearance was revealed after he failed to show his face in court.

It was believed Joel may have ended up taking his own life. The police, however, carried on digging, and the investigation soon turned into solving Joel’s murder after his body was found floating down a river before it was then confirmed he’d been killed with a heavy weapon before entering the water.

Weatherfield’s biggest-ever ‘whodunnit’ saw several Weathefield residents put in the frame and Joel’s murderer was eventually revealed in a dramatic episode. It brought to life what really happened on September 27th, confirming that while Max Turner, who had earlier confessed to killing Joel in self-defence – had confronted Joel. But it was Lauren who hit him over the head with a brick as he attacked her boyfriend, resulting in him succumbing to his injuries.

Max originally confessed to Joel’s murder but after Kit found holes in his story, it is now Lauren who has found herself behind bars and away from her son, Frankie.

Away from their characters, Cait and Paddy are close pals and on Tuesday (November 26), the former took to social media to wish the latter a happy birthday. Paddy turned 22 and Cait paid tribute by sharing a collage of pictures of the pair, alongside which she simply said: “Happy birthday to my @paddybever. I love you,” adding a face holding back tears and pink love heart emojis.

It comes after Cait recently took part in a Q&A with her Instagram followers following the reveal that Lauren was Joel’s killer. Questions soon turned to Cait’s co-stars and speaking about Paddy, she shared an adorable photo of them both laughing between takes outside the Rovers Return and said: “I adore working with this talented human.

“Me and @paddybever have a platonic relationship off-screen. I think when you have someone you can completely trust and let go with it is so important and special and myself and Pads have that. I think that really translates on-screen.”
