Emmerdale’s Mike Parr enjoys a bromance with co-star Jeff Hordley
Jeff Hordley has received a heartwarming tribute from his co-star Mike Parr as further details have been revealed about the annual tradition the pair share.
As we’ve previously reported, Jeff Hordley, 54, who plays Cain Dingle, and Mike Parr, 38, who plays Ross Barton, meet up each year enjoying the music at Glastonbury. Mike, who returned to Emmerdale earlier this year, explained: “I have a real soft spot for Jeff Hordley, I bump into him once a year, and it’s always at Glastonbury. He’s such a music head, and I pretend that I’m a music head.
“I love hearing him talk about his music. I just nod my head and pretend I know what he’s talking about, because, to be honest, I like old rap music, and I haven’t really evolved with the times.
“But he’s a good person to talk to and find out what’s cool at the minute. But everybody here, it’s been so amazing to just see people and hear their life story. It’s been so nice to rekindle with people and hear people’s stories and find out what’s going on – and tell them all of my stories as well.”
Appearing at an Emmerdale press event, Mike elaborated further on his admiration for his co-star. Mike said: “I bumped into him (Jeff Hordley) a couple of times at Glastonbury. We’d planned to meet up. My life isn’t in Yorkshire, I was in London, so I came back up to film The Long Shadow (Mike appeared in the ITV drama during his time away from Emmerdale). I was busy on that and I didn’t get chance to see anyone so it is just nice when you get to see each other.
“And, also seeing each other outside of work. Jeff is so cool. He plays a villain, he dresses amazingly, a beautiful wife, great kids and he knows music like the back of his hand. He can DJ. He’s everything I want to be when I grow up.”
