Coronation Street viewers are convinced they’ve rumbled Betsy Swain’s downfall following Monday’s explosive episode
Coronation Street fans reckon they’ve figured out Betsy Swain’s downfall after Monday’s dramatic episode.
In the recent episode, Betsy, portrayed by Sydney Martin, reassured Mason Radcliffe, played by Luca Toolan, that his troublesome brothers were no longer a concern due to a deal she had made with them.
It was later unveiled that Betsy’s plan involved the brothers burgling the Underworld factory in exchange for leaving Mason alone. Betsy confirmed that the factory was vacant due to a team bonding day and she would facilitate their entry to ransack it.
However, in typical soap opera fashion, the heist didn’t go as planned when Carla Connor, played by Alison King, returned to the factory earlier than expected after DS Lisa Swain, portrayed by Vicky Myers, confessed she wasn’t ready for a relationship, reportsĀ Lancs Live.

Upon her return to the factory, Carla was shocked to discover the place had been burgled. As she tried to call the police, she was hit on the head by Mason’s brothers and collapsed.
Meanwhile, Betsy assured Mason that everything went according to plan and he wouldn’t be troubled by his brothers anymore. However, they were soon horrified to see Carla, who had thankfully regained consciousness, speaking to the police and revealing she was hit over the head.
The situation worsened when Logan and Matty confronted Betsy, threatening that if they get caught, they will implicate her too.
After chatting to the police, Carla made a start on tidying up the factory but was swiftly struck by agony and collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

Simultaneously, Betsy crept into the premises to leave the spare keys, only to stumble upon Carla, lifeless on the floor, prompting her to summon an ambulance.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Betsy later confided in her mother, DS Swain, about Carla’s urgent hospital trip, leading them to dash to her side. There, they discovered the harrowing news that Carla had suffered a brain haemorrhage and needed immediate surgery.
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to point out Betsy’s downfall. One person said: “I have a feeling that sallys gonna be the one to clock on that betsy had something to do with the break in seen as we had the cafe scene and then the look on her face when carla was getting taken away in the ambulance #corrie” to which a different account added: “Plus Betsy was not at the team building day!”
