Vanessa uncovered the truth after first learning of Suzy’s affair
Emmerdale fans spotted a “missed opportunity” after Vanessa had a public showdown with Mary in the Woolpack pub during Thursday’s (13th March) episode.
During Wednesday’s (12th March) instalment, Vanessa informed Mary that she had found texts on Suzy’s phone as she admitted: “I was going through Suzy’s phone, I remember that Suzy said Leyla had sent her a lovely picture of us together. Anyway, I just… I wanted to see it.”
She continued: “So I was going through her texts, and…” Vanessa then gave Mary the phone, and the texts from Leyla read: “Don’t throw your life away over one kiss” as Suzy replied: “It’s not just one kiss though… I’ve been thinking it for a while now… I need to end things.”
Vanessa added: “You’ll see Suzy was having doubts about our relationship. She told Leyla she was thinking about leaving me.” Later, Vanessa asked Mary if their whole relationship was a lie, to which she responded that texts could mean all sorts of things.
Tracy then walked in and Vanessa revealed to her sister that Suzy had been having an affair while Mary attempted to damage control. To Vanessa’s shock, Tracy sided with Mary as she said: “this stuff is damning, sure. But Suzy was not a cheater, we just need to find out who her and Leyla were talking about.”
Vanessa first walked into the pub to ask Mary if she knew anything at all about Suzy’s supposed affair, including a name of who it was with.

Later, after speaking with Rhona, Vanessa marched into the Woolpack and confronted Mary as she asked: “I need to know, was it you?” as she then showed Mary that she’d found her bracelet.
As she became angrier, Vanessa lashed out at Ross with “You really think this is funny?” as he made a joke about Mary’s age gap. with Suzy. Feeling betrayed, she turned to Mary and said: “I let you comfort me, I was in bits, and you were pretending to be a shoulder to cry on.”
In true soap style, Vanessa threw a drink over Mary before storming out of the pub, leaving the rest of the village in shock at what just unravelled in front of them.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), some fans wished that Charity Dingle would’ve been there to support Vanessa. @vanitywiegman wrote: “I SO WANTED CHARITY TO BE THERE WHEN NESS KICKED OFF missed opportunity”
@vanityerax added: “GO AND GET YOUR GIRL BACK CHARITY” and “ehhh @emmerdale why was charity not there to witness this !!! WE WANT OUR GIRLS BACK”.
