As fans know, actor Paddy Never had found his character Max Turner behind bars again in the ITV soap

Paddy Bever has been flooded with messages of love and support from his former co-stars as he was seen leaving Coronation Street after almost four years.

As fans know, his character Max Turner has found himself behind bars again, this time for starting the fire that saw the Platts’ beloved family home destroyed. In scenes aired in February, a rag soaked in petrol was posted through the house’s front door along with some lit matches.

He later become trapped inside and after being rescued and put into a coma, he made a recovery but only to be arrested after he was revealed to have started the first, attempted an insurance job to help his step-dad pay back gangster Harvey Gaskell after he started to target them.

It was earlier this month (March) that Max was given his sentence. The judge took into account Max’s apparent remorse and guilty plea but with that alongside his premeditated actions and suspended sentence didn’t bode well for the teen.

The judge revealed that Max would be spending six and a half years behind bars. He was left shocked by the outcome and called out to David, who was in the public gallery, for support.

Due to Harvey’s threats, Max has been moved to a prison in Scotland and during Wednesday night’s (March 12), episode, the teen was speaking to David on the phone from his new prison, telling him it was ‘fine’ and to not worry about him.

Before David could tell Max what had been happening at home, with David surviving at attempt to orchestrate his own death, sister Lily snatched the phone and began telling her brother all about the gossip from her school.

Once Lily brought the phone back, Max told David: “It’s fine. I’m not going to pretend it’s nice in here, but it’s OK. I’m OK, I’m good. And I’m going to keep my head down and get through it.” David replied: “That’s really good that Max. I’m glad to hear it. I love you Max.”

The scenes marked the end of Paddy’s time in the ITV soap after joining back in 2021 when Corrie re-cast the role of Max, the son of David’s late wife Kyle Platt.

Following his final scenes, Paddy took to Instagram and shared a number of photos which summed up his time on the famous Street, including filming the huge Joel Deering ‘Whodunnit’ with Cait Fitton (Lauren Bolton) last year and winning a National Television Award in 202 for ‘Rising Star’.

Alongside the post, Paddy wrote: “As my final ep airs tonight, here are some of my favourites from my time playing max. I’ll remember this job and the people i’ve met along the way so fondly- What a ride it’s been. Thank you @coronationstreet.”
