The shock scenes unfolded after Weatherfield favourite David was seen plotting his own death
Coronation Street fans think they have ‘figured out’ the heartbreaking death twist they have been dreading after David Platt and Daisy Midgeley were involved in a horror hit-and-run.
The shock scenes unfolded during Wednesday night’s (March 6) edition of the ITV soap after Weatherfield favourite David was seen plotting his own death.
It would be fair to say that the hairdresser hasn’t been having the easiest of times since he became involved with gangster Harvey Gaskell, stealing money which belonged to him, offered to David’s sister Sarah Platt by her former flame Damon Hay.
During Monday night’s (March 3) edition of Corrie, viewers saw David was confronted by Andy Garland, who pulled out a knife, after he’d been to court where his stepson Max Turner was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for arson.
Andy told David that Harvey wanted him dead for his life insurance payout, after David stole Harvey’s money months ago. Andy went on to leave without causing any damage but later in the episode he was called back to the salon by David who had a shocking offer.
In heartbreaking scenes, David saw no way out of his feud with Harvey with his kids at risk, especially Max now that he is in prison. David told Andy the only way to get Harvey off of both their backs was for him to die.

It was then during the mid-week visit to the Cobbles that David’s plan played out. He e spent time writing notes to his family and talking to his grandmother Audrey Roberts, with his inner monologue heard throughout as he counted down to 2pm, the moment he planned for Andy to plough into him in the middle of the street.
When the final moments began, David stood in the middle of the road. A car then came hurtling at speed, and Shona watched in horror as David was ploughed in to, with Daisy Midgeley caught in the crossfire.
The pair were rushed to hospital with David’s life hanging in the balance, with medics having to bring him back around before doing emergency surgery and placing him in a coma. Daisy, meanwhile, suffered injuries to her arm but was told her unborn baby was doing ok as there was a steady heartbeat.
However after the procedure to fix her arm, a nurse broke the news to Daniel that Daisy had been bleeding, and there was a chance she may lose her unborn baby. He told Daisy’s stepmother Jenny Connor that she think she has suffered an abruption in her placenta, meaning she is bleeding between the uterus and the placenta and they can’t be sure if the baby will survive until carrying out another ultrasound the following day.

Corrie fans have since taken to social media as they believe that Daisy will lose her and Kit Green’s baby, leading to plenty of fallout before Charlotte Jordan bows out of the show as the barmaid and Rovers co-owner this Spring.
@famoustvshows said: “Daisy may lose her baby #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie.” @mikepriestley13 commented: “Aww daisy is going to lose her baby #Corrie.” @sammi_heartbeat wrote: “No no daisy cannot i repeat CANNOT lose this baby.. she deserves it so much #corrie.”
@emmapurple1 shared: “My #Corrie prediction – David doesn’t die, daisy doesn’t die; but her baby does and it comes out that she kept quiet about the truth of the father, she decides that she can’t stay and takes the Paris job and leaves jenny to clear up the mess, especially the money owed to Carla.” @RyanTheSoapking added: “We know Charlotte Jordan ( Daisy) is leaving so she’ll probably lose her baby. #Corrie.”
