Emmerdale viewers are convinced one character is making their way back to the village
Emmerdale viewers have been left predicting an iconic character is returning to the village following a huge baby bombshell.
During Wednesday’s episode of the ITV show (March 5), is was the day before Leyla Harding’s (played by Roxy Shahidi) funeral and her son Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) had a terrible day.
Despite everyone warning him that it is too early to go back to work, especially on his mum’s birthday, Jacob got dismissed from his hospital placement for panicking during an emergency involving a car accident.
Distraught that his future is now on hold, Jacob turns to drinking with a friend at HOP and then decides to have a house party.

Sarah’s concerns for Jacob grow after he ignores her calls, and she decided to pay him a visit only to find him drinking, and has a house full of students.
She tries to stop the party and tell everyone to leave but Jacob tells her to get out of the house instead. Little does Jacob know that Sarah urgently needs to speak to him as she thinks she is pregnant.
Later this week, Sarah takes a pregnancy test and is shocked to receive a positive result. But when she tries to get a moment alone with Jacob after Leyla’s funeral to tell him the news, he pushes her away, leading her to confide in grandmother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) instead.
Sarah’s pregnancy and troubles with Jacob have now sparked speculation that her mum, Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), is returning to the soap.

Taking to Facebook, one fan pondered: “I wonder if Debbie is coming back when she finds out Sarah is pregnant?”
A second chimed in: “Be brilliant to see her and Joe come face to face again”, while a third simply added: “Yes.”
“I’ve read she’s coming back”, stated one hopeful fan.
“I think Debbie should come back and if the original actress doesn’t want to return then they ought to recast the part like they did with Robert. Especially with Joe being back,” suggested another.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
