Viewers have requested for one Dales resident to tone down their behaviour

Emmerdale fans are growing impatient with Marlon Dingle as they beg him to “stop” and ask for him to give April time during Wednesday’s (March 5) episode.

During Christmas of 2024, April Windsor disappeared from the Dales much to the horror of her father Marlon who was growing concerned for his teenage daughter.

Since her disappearance, Marlon spent most days searching all over Leeds for his daughter only to be met with continuous dead ends. Things started to look up when the police found CCTV of the teen walking through the city, but it wasn’t until recently that she was found.

It was revealed over the course of the episode that April fled the village after finding out she was pregnant, fearing that she would cause more disruption and upset in her family if they found out the truth.

Viewers watched during a special episode dedicated to April’s story as she ended up sleeping rough on the streets before finding solace in a desolate building with other runaways.

April grew close to Dylan after he stepped into protect her after an older man continued to make advances towards her. He introduced the teen to his friend Becca who became somewhat of a mentor. They both promised to protect April as they grew increasingly concerned for her safety.

In a tragic sequence of events, Becca ended up getting stabbed after chasing after a thief who stole the little cash they managed to beg members of the public for. April and Dylan were heartbroken to find that Becca had died from the stabbing, and later on Dylan was arrested during a police raid.

That wasn’t the end of the trauma for April, as she doubled over in pain she made her way to the toilets of a gym where she had a stillbirth. After being admitted into hospital, she was reunited with her family but has since struggled to readjust to normal life.

Recently, fans have noted that April is feeling overwhelmed with Marlon’s over protection since her return. During Wednesday’s instalment, Marlon is struggling to adjust with Dylan showing up in the village as he doesn’t know how to navigate his friendship with April.

Fans took to social media to express their concern for April. On X (formerly known as Twitter), @AjEasmon wrote: “Marlon, stop being so negative and over protective! April will be fine, give her a chance and some space. She got through all that didn’t she? Give her time”.

@krishanmaharaj added: “Marlon still gets on my nerves”. On a Facebook fan page, a viewer penned: “I do feel for April. I know Marlon is worried but he has to let her breathe” as another replied: “She’s never gonna feel at home if he’s constantly nagging her!”.
