Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd appeared on Wednesday’s This Morning, where he appeared to reveal his character David Platt’s fate
Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd appeared to let slip his character David Platt’s fate on Wednesday’s This Morning.
In upcoming scenes on Wednesday’s 8pm episode, which is available on ITV X, David is left for dead after a hit and run.
Only recently, David was threatened by Andy at knifepoint, who warned that enemy Harvey Gaskell wants him dead for his life insurance in order to pay off his debts.
In upcoming scenes on Wednesday’s episode, David’s life hangs in the balance after he hires a hitman to run him over so his life insurance can pay off his debts to gangster Harvey.

However, in a devastating twist, just as David is hit by the car, pregnant Daisy Midgeley dashes out of the pub and the car ploughs into both of the characters.
Shona Platt tends to David but it’s clear he’s bleeding to death as a worried Kit Green calls an ambulance. Meanwhile, Jenny Connor and Daniel Osbourne rush to Daisy’s side and beg her to wake up, worried for her baby.
Appearing on Wednesday’s This Morning, actor Jack, 37, teased the upcoming scenes and his character’s fate with soap expert Sharon Marshall, as well as hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
Talking about Jack’s almost 25-year milestone on Coronation Street, the actor said: “Yeah, 25 years, it’s a long time, I think it’s 25 years next month.
“It would have been nice to kind of reach that milestone but… sadly, tonight’s the end, so… but I’ve loved every minute of it!”

The bombshell revelation left Sharon, Ben and Cat all stunned back in the studio as Ben asked: “Jack, is tonight the actual end for your character?” to which Jack replied: “Yeah! I can’t believe we’ve managed to keep it out for so long but I think everybody will enjoy it!”
Ben then asked: “Is he saying yes or no there Sharon?” to which the soap expert explained: “Well, I cannot say how it ends tonight, it has been kept under wraps but you’re definitely not filming today…
“You have come in on a day you’re not, he’s not filming, he has just come in! Has he just given us a massive bombshell?” to which Ben replied: “I think he might of!”

Jack added: “I’ve loved my time here, loved the character and yeah it’s a really special episode!”, he continued: “I think we did something similar when Kylie died, I don’t think the audience were expecting that till I came on This Morning and said the character sort of dies!”
Ending the interview, Sharon teased: “Well we better tune into that, all I will say is you will get the answer tonight as to what happens!”
Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on ITV X and STV.
