Coronation Street’s David Platt vowed he must die on the ITV soap this week sparking fears he will be killed off and that actor Jack p Shepherd is leaving

David Platt could be leaving Coronation Street if the latest scenes are anything to go by.

Jack P Shepherd’s character announced his impending death on Monday night, after spoilers teased he would be killed off in tragic scenes. In a twist David asked Andy to kill him in a bid to get evil Harvey Gaskell off his back for good, with Andy also in need of help.

On Monday night we saw David tell Andy to stage a hit and run and kill him, asking him to make it quick. With that there were fears David was leaving the show as there’s no news on his fate for after Wednesday or even next week.

Instead, spoilers suggested he would be left dying in the road after the car crash which we now know he has orchestrated. Sadly, pregnant Daisy Midgeley gets caught in the crossfire and is also left fighting for her life.

But is this the moment we lose soap legend David after decades onscreen, and just months after his mother Gail Platt’s exit? Here’s what we know about David’s future on the show.

Is David leaving Corrie and does he die?

David’s fate on the ITV soap has not yet been confirmed, with the show not revealing his future. It has not been announced whether the character will exit in the scenes but it’s not looking good.

David has said numerous times that he “must die” and Wednesday’s episode sees him put his plan into action. A spoiler clip for Wednesday’s episode bleakly shows him counting down the hours until his death.

He declares he will die, having already asked Andy to kill him in a hit and run and to make it look like an accident. He even told Andy his exact whereabouts and an exact time for his death, and spoilers do not give much positive vibes.

The spoilers reveal Shona battles to save her husband with Kit before he’s rushed to hospital. He will be shown bleeding out as doctors try to save him, but there is nothing confirming what happens next and if he will survive his brush with death.

Is Jack P Shepherd leaving the role?

Actor Jack has yet to confirm whether or not he is leaving the role after more than two decades. Equally, the soap has not released if David is leaving.
